The Season Changes
It's late August yet the Summer only began a couple of weeks ago. As it began, I opened a fresh double page in my un-ruled hardback notebook and quite randomly scribbled down the things I hoped to get done this Summer. Some of the stuff was work catch-up, others photographic aspirations and more just mundane things to be done around the house. As the days and weeks passed, I put a different coloured line through the ones I'd taken care of, but still many remain. Photo books I'd vowed to complete, attic clear-out, trips down the country to visit friends. Sometimes, I lead myself to believe that things matter, other times I accept that they really don't. It's been a time of some introspection, accelerated by the shock passing of Glen Hansard and the awful injuries sustained in a motorway crash. Just last night, I watched the very beautiful documentary 'Hey Day - The Mic Christopher Story - Life, Love and Second Chances'. These things really change the way I feel about life. In the end of the day, all I have is a small bunch of memories and the transitory proof that they happened in a series of photos. Onto my double pages, I'll add the intention to add a gallery to my website and post the link here, maybe.
